Angie November 04, 2012 for Model Number RBS245PDQ12 I have a Whirlpool self cleaning accubake system wall oven. The heat light does not come on plus it only gets about 130 degrees inside the oven.Thats even on bake and broil.
1 Answer Hello Angie. You need to check and make sure there is 240 volts coming to the unit at the terminal block. If not, you will have the issues you are having with the unit. Read More...
Shawn October 25, 2012 for Model Number RBS305PDQ17 Both elements quit working in my Whirlpool built-in oven during the self-clean cycle when the power went out. The control panel seems fine. Are there fuses in the oven some where? How do you test the thermal overload?
1 Answer Hello Shawn, To test the thermal fuse, disconnect the power supply to the unit and remove the control panel. Reach inside and test from P5-2 (OR) or P5-3 (R) to the red wire at the terminal block. If there is no continuity, the thermal overload is bad and will require replacement to restore normal operation. Read More...
Nathan October 20, 2012 for Model Number RBD275PDQ6 Upper oven will not heat or broil. Bottom oven works fine. There does not seem to be any issues with the control board as all works (time/temp choosing...) other than the upper oven not heating. Replaced the sensor for the upper oven. Could it be the thermal fuse? Or is the control board though the bottom oven works perfect. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Nathan, You should turn the breaker off and test from P18-4 (R) or PP18-1(R) to the red wire at the terminal block. This test should read a complete circuit, (it should read 25O to 55O). If the unit shows no connection, the thermal fuse has opened. There is a thermal fuse for each oven, so this is most likely the issue. Read More...
Paul October 14, 2012 for Model Number HOTPOINT-WALL OVEN RJ735008WH The only thing that seems to work is the cleaning. There are no lights or heat when you turn knob to bake or broil.
1 Answer Hello Paul, Sounds like a bad selector switch or the thermostat has failed. I would be able to pin it down easier, but the model number you provided does not come up as valid. You should be able to test the switches with the power off with an ohm meter. Re-post with a verified model number and we can go in further in detail. Read More...
Daisy C. October 14, 2012 for Model Number Whirpool Oven Built in Model # RBS305PDQ16 We have a Whirlpool Built-in Electric Oven. I used self clean last month and now it won't heat up anymore. Everything else (light bulbs, control panel) seem to be working fine but oven. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
1 Answer Hello Daisy, You need to kill the power to the unit and remove the control panel. Test from P5-2 (OR) or P5-3 (R) to the red wire at the terminal block. This tests through the thermal overload WP9759243. If the unit won't bake or broil, the overload will solve the issue. If it reads good, check the elements. Read More...
Bob M. October 13, 2012 for Model Number GBD307PDS09 My problem began following a Clean cycle on the Upper. The oven stopped during the cycle, sounded an alarm, and displayed PF. Following that, attempts to use the upper by selecting a baking temp and pressing Start would result in the oven attempting to start (it would turn on for a few seconds), followed by an alarm, then the Control Panel lit up completely, the start up ended with the display presenting PF, the clock going to 12:00 and the upper shut down. The Lower oven worked fine throughout. I replaced Control Board (W10406070) and then encountered a problem with the Control Panel (F2 E1 fault code) (8300440) so I replaced it as well. While this fixed the original problem, now the clock runs fast and the Convection fan runs continuously. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Check and see if there is any loose connections inside the unit on the control board. If not, it sounds like the control board you replaced may actually be bad and needs to be replaced. Read More...
Jon July 27, 2012 for Model Number KESC307HWO The oven element will not heat when on "Bake" but will heat normally when on "Broil". I'm thinking a thermostat is out. Can you direct me to a part number?
1 Answer Hello Jon, The thermal cutout WP341196 should be located under the control panel. I really have doubts though as I have been studying the wiring diagram and I think the bake element WP9752294 may be the issue. I say this because the diagram shows L1 being broken and this would prevent the broil element from operating properly also. This could also be a control issue. You should check for 120Vac at terminal P11. If you use ground for a test reference, next try P11 to J1-1. J1-1 is neutral. Let us know if you require further assistance. Read More...
Jarod July 10, 2012 for Model Number Gbs307pdq1 Ran this oven through a clean cycle and now it won't heat, either element. It's also doing something a little weird on the control panel. When I select "bake" and try to increase the temperature, the temp reading goes down, not up. Also goes down when pressing the down button. All other controls and buttons seem to be working fine. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Jarod. The only repair is a new control panel for the issue you are having. The problem is the control panel has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Sorry. Read More...
Sir S. July 07, 2012 for Model Number RS696PXGB13 I have a Whirlpool built in range and need to check the thermal overload. Location is solved, however, getting the range out to get to it is the real problem. It doesen't appear to want to slide or lift out. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Sir, Open the oven door and look on the inside edge near the bottom on both sides. You will see one screw on each side. Remove the screw and the trim piece that it went through will pull out at the bottom about an inch then it slides straight down. Removing this trim piece on each side will expose the screws that mount the unit to the cabinet. You should use two people to move the unit so you don't get hurt and don't forget to turn off the breaker and verify you turned off the correct breaker. Gloves are strongly recommended also. Sir S. July 07, 2012 for Model Number RS696PXGB13 I am trying to locate the thermal overload so I can check it. I have already checked the element with a multimeter and its ok. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Sir, The thermal overload WP9759243 is located on the back of the unit usually near the top to halfway down the cabinet. The rear cover panel will have to be removed to access it. To test it, using a resistance meter you should read practically no resistance. This is the same as touching the test meter leads together. If it reads no contact at all or a high resistance, it will require replacement. Read More...
