For Whirlpool Washer Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM12071565)

Hello Kent. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Greg, it sounds like you will need to replace the water inlet valve part number 205613. You will need to access the back of the washer. Remove the fill hoses from the inlet valve. Remove the screws holding the valve bracket in place and remove the screws holding the inlet valve to the bracket. Remove the wiring to the inlet valve- keeping track of where each wire came from so you can install them in the correct location when replacing. Remove the clamp that holds the fill tube to the valve. Install the valve in reverse order. Hope this helps you, thanks!

Hello David, The only difference between this valve and the new valve is the way the valve mounts to the cabinet. The two wires on the solenoids can be reversed with no consequence. If the top and bottom are switched, the unit will put in hot water when cold is called for and vice versa. As far as mounting goes, you simply mount to the holes in the back that line up with the screw holes provided. I have found that on several models, there is no way to get two holes to align. In this case, simply mount the valve with one screw. The single screw will ground the valve sufficiently and the unit will operate normally.

Hello Pogo. You should start the machine on a cold wash and test for voltage. If voltage is getting there, I would order the water valve. If it isn't, you probably have a bad pressure switch W10339326 or timer WP3951769. The water valve does include both hot and cold inlet valves and solenoids. I hope this helps and have a great day!
