Reggie November 25, 2015 for Model Number leb6300pwo I just replaced the heating element and there is a little smell when I started it up. The dryer also won't stop when I open the door.
1 Answer Hello Reggie, You will need to replace the door switch WP3406107 to correct this if there is no damage to the harness. It is normal to smell the "new" burn off of a new element. Read More...
Kirk B. November 07, 2015 for Model Number EED4300TQ0 When I remove the heating element, will there be signs that it is bad? How do I know it's not a thermostat or some other part? Dryer won't heat. Vent tube is clear. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Kirk, If the element is bad it will either be touching the housing or it will be broken. The best way to diagnose the issue is with a test meter TJMA-DMT3. The thermostats, thermal fuse, and thermal cutout should read like touching the leads together if good and the element should read a low resistance. Read More...

Rob October 06, 2015 for Model Number SEDX600MQ1 I replaced the heating element and still have no heat. Any ideas as to where to start?
1 Answer Hello Rob. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Danny S. September 26, 2015 for Model Number WED5800BW0 I first started noticing bad wrinkles in my clothes. A couple weeks ago started smelling really hot clothes. Yesterday it threw my breaker. I am a retired maintenance technician and have had several electrical classes and can use a volt meter well and understand ohm's law. What are the parts you would test? I can still dry for short periods, but not long, dryer is way too hot. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Danny, If there are no shorts in the harness, it sounds like either a sticking relay on the board or a stuck centrifugal switch in the motor assembly. Read More...
Jim J September 19, 2015 for Model Number YLER4634PQ0 My dryer is also not drying the cloths properly. I have cleaned the vent. Although according to your diagnostics, it could be the heater, but I also thought that around the drum could be some lent which prevents from air ventilation. How can I access the inside and around the drum. Some of the older dryers could be opened from the top by pushing the top clamps. Is this one also opens from top. Do you think that inside and around the drum needs to be cleaned also? Thank indeed for answering our questions.
1 Answer Jim, In order to access the vent to check to see if it is clogged would be to pull the unit out and remove the rear cover of the unit. Take the lint trap out and remove the 2 screws. There will be 2 clips holding the duct assembly. Remove the duct. Read More...
Jim August 14, 2015 When trying to replace the heating element on my whirlpool dryer I took top part of the old part of the heating element off also and am having a problem getting it to fit back into the hole at the top of the drum. Any suggestions? As you can tell I don't know anything about stuff like this but after watching the video I thought I would tackle it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Jim. The heater housing has to be positioned properly to snap into the bulkhead. There is no tricks to doing this, but you can have someone looking inside the drum to guide you if needed. Read More...
