Wain January 24, 2014 for Model Number MEDC400VW0 I have changed the heating element in my dryer, but it is not drying. Do you think the thermostat may be bad? By the way, the heating element was bad, it had a crack in it.
1 Answer Hello Wain. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Michael S January 16, 2014 for Model Number 11068632700 My dryer has stopped heating and I was trying to check the heating element with a multimeter before going to get a part. I watched your video on checking and replacing the heating element and noticed you have 3 wires connecting the heating element and mine only has 2. The two bigger wires. I do not see the orange colored smaller wire on the other side of the thermostat on my dryer but I don't see an extra wire that's unplugged either.
1 Answer Hello Michael. Some models do not use the orange wire. You will test without doing that wire. Read More...
