We have a 3/4 HP GE disposal. It was installed when we built the house approximately ten years ago. It has been fantastic except for one thing. Every six months or so it would start leaking. I would tighten the Support Ring and off we would go for another six months. This time the Sink Flange began to "separate" (break apart at the top). Removed drain pipe from disposal and then rotate mounting ring to lower disposal. Removed old splash guard (gasket) with screw driver then installed new one by hand.
