Old refrigerator whose gasket was deteriorating Charles M. • Brookline , MA • October 10, 2014
I went on the web and put in the refrigerator model. Several parts websites came up; I explored them all. All were approximately the same price, but I clicked on the installation video from AppliancePartsPros.com and was impressed with the thoroughness of the instructions. I knew it would be a huge help in putting on the gasket. So I ordered the gasket from them and it was delivered as promised. All in all, a very good transaction.

The seal on the door of the refigerator was damaged also the hinge cap needed replacing as it was cracked Michael S. • Fredericksburg , VA • January 20, 2016
I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this...

Ge ss refrigerator needed new door gaskets Dan K. • Hudson , WI • March 07, 2015
These gaskets (seals) are friction held in a groove and just pull out by hand. The new ones simply can be pushed back into the groove by using your fingers to go around and work them in. Pull a corner of the old one out and push it back in to see how the fit.
The gaskets need warming and softening with a hair dryer to straighten after arrival for correct shape, better fit, workability, and to regain their shape, but this is a simple job. The only catch, is that the door flap has to be...

The magnetic gasket around my freezer was not keeping the door closed Jason F. • Towson , MD • June 27, 2016
The gasket on my freezer door was not holding the door closes. When the main door closed, the pressure which shifts to the freezer was popping the door open and it was not closing because the magnet had lost its' mojo.
I watched the video for the replacement of the gasket on the freezer door and my experience was exactly the same. One area that you should be mindful of: the depth of the fin on the replacement gasket is short, so do not make the slot of this fin too deep.
When you are...

Door gasket was torn Alan A. • Eugene , OR • April 04, 2017
The new gasket arrived in a box half the size of the gasket so the gasket was folded to fit into the box. I hung the new gasket up for a couple of hours and then just prior to installation used a hair dryer as per included instructions to soften the gasket and minimize minor wrinkles in the gasket.
The old gasket came out easily and the new went in easily. A 5 minute job in total.

Freezer door gasket and liner replacement. Kenneth A. • Denison , TX • October 02, 2017
Gasket and liner arrived as planned. Clips were a day later. Used "hog ring" pliers to remove the clips, worked great. Pre-punched holes in the gasket did not match the original but the plastic liner did. Used an ice pick to punch the gasket and inserted the clips. This is a chest freezer, so install the hinge side first.

Damaged refrigerator door seals. Ralph A. • Sanford , FL • July 31, 2017
Ordered replacement door seals, assistance picking the seals and speed of shipping was excellent. The installation was about as easy a job as can be, remove old seals, clean the doors and press in the new seals. With that said, I don't believe these are the same quality as factory original seals, the doors do not close as positive as the original and I have an air leak in the freezer door seal allowing condensation and ice to form.

Replace upper door seals on ge french door refrigerator Craig M. • Vadnais Heights , MN • January 15, 2017
Followed general instructions on APP video I found on YouTube for similar GE refrigerator. I soaked the gaskets in warm bath water first which may or may not have been required as I let the gaskets sit out flat in a warm house for a week first and they were about as straight as they would get.
Installing the gasket in the groove was not very difficult assuming you have strong fingers. Entire process takes more time than you think as the gasket needs to be heated with a hair dryer and stretched...
