Turned out that the large gray boot/gasket had finally started to harden and deteriorate right at the bottom where the drain hose is. No surprise it leaked after seeing that. Installing the new gasket (and new clamps which I figured I would replace at the same time) did the trick. Fairly simple install. Do yourself a favor and buy the spring pliers to remove/install the clamps. Well worth the time and hassle they will save you. Read more

I had a slow leak from the very front of my LG washer, so I was pretty sure that it was just the gasket leaking, and not any of the hoses. I took apart the washer to find both of the weight balancers had broken in 2 and were banging around. They had also caused the boot seal to rip. I removed the broken weight balancers and replaced them along with a new boot seal. There was one small spot with the seal wasn't fully attached to the outer drum so I had to take it back apart to fix that minor error on my part. Otherwise, it was a fairly easy fix. Read more

Found the belt was thrown off. Reinstalled the belt and when doing so felt that the pulley was wobbling on the barrel shaft. Took the pulley off and noticed the inside of the pulley was worn badly and needed to be replaced. When received the new pulley and belt easily installed and was working like new. Read more

With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this. First I watched the very, very helpful video (twice), then I planned out the job in regards to tools, work area, and access. I have stacked units of washer/dryer due to space restrictions and had to ask my son-in-law to help me lift the dryer of the washer once I had prepared the process by fabricating 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood to turn the dryer and then slide it out far enough were 2 people can lift it and then set it on some cribbing for easy handling. I replaced the broken drive belt first and noticed the drive pulley loose. The nut that had held it in place had backed off. This resulted in significant wear on the pulley hub. I just tightened it up and installed the belt. I noticed the belt had a tendency to change its position on the pulley depending on the direction of rotation. I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. Tub bearing failure, basically the whole machine has to be taken a part. I've used appliancepartspros in the past so I came back. Quick shipping, parts ordered Thursday night and got here Monday. Take your time or you'll just cost yourself more money. I was lucky in that I did not have to buy the $568 inner tub because I found a bearing and seal kit on Amazon for $80.
