Whirlpool dishwasher not fully cleaning or drying dishes. Andrew M. • Seattle , WA • January 05, 2020
My Whirlpool dishwasher (wdf520padm3) started leaving food on dishes and not drying dishes as well as it used to, even when I ran the 'high temp' and 'heavy' cleaning options. This started happening after about 3 years of operation. To try to diagnose the issue, I started the diagnostics cycle (see below for instructions on how to do this). However, the 'Clean' LED is also not working on my dishwasher, so I was unable to read the error code after the service cycle finished.
I decided to...

Top rack rollers snapped off plastic axles snapped Robin J. • Hudson , WI • July 15, 2014
I replaced the adjusters on both sides (since two rollers broke off on one and one broke off on the other). Replacement was easy, just remember to keep the clips from the original adjusters. Take the clips off, remove the adjuster, replace with the new adjuster, and replace the clips. The new adjuster comes with the rollers already attached so no need to keep the ones from when plastic axle broke on the original adjusters.

Our Kenmore dishwasher started leaking water onto the bottom access cover far left side. Willard D. • Montrose , CO • June 20, 2021
I took the bottom access cover off, and checked underneath the unit to isolate where it was leaking from. Cleaned the cover, and the spot where the leak happened was marked for me. The front, far left hand side, behind the door. Ran a quick rinse cycle with a pan under the spot to verify it was there. It was. Then I did an internet search and found your website. Our dishwasher, bought in November of 2016, was listed, and several of the reviewers said wonderful things about their experiences...

Dishwasher stopped draining water the pump was running (i could hear the noise) but water would not go away Evgueni P. • San Mateo , CA • February 08, 2015
I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Upon disconnecting the drain and checking its connector I indeed found the round piece totally blocking the hose and acting as a seal. I removed the piece...

No water in the dishwasher. Rohan P. • Troy , OH • January 30, 2022
As mentioned, our Whirlpool Dishwasher would complete the cycle but Tablet pretty much sat in the Soap Dispenser Box nor there was any sign of water inside the Dishwasher. This happened 2 - 3 times. Hence decided to dive into what the fix was.
After reviewing a bunch of Youtube Videos, understood first how a typical Dishwasher operates and what are the basic checks it does before water is let inside. So it typically first checks whether Door S/w got activated, followed by Float Switch...

Upper rack adjuster cracked Gary G. • San Francisco , CA • April 27, 2019
I bumped into my KitchenAid dishwasher and the upper rack adjuster cracked. There was already a crack on the notch of the housing where the handle (lever) sits. In addition, the positioner popped out and I couldn't find it. So, I bought the three parts from AppliancePartsPros online.
It arrived in about a week. The repair was fairly simple, but it still took about 45 minutes because I didn't want to crack the assemblies.
For the housing, use a small slotted screwdriver to carefully...

Leak from under KitchenAid dishwasher misdiagnosed by technician David B. • Freeport , NY • August 21, 2020
My dishwasher was leaking and I called to have a certified technician come to diagnose the problem. I removed the kick panel from the bottom of the machine. He turned it on and we saw that water was leaking from the bottom. He said I needed a Sump kit but it wasn't in stock. The cost was $170 plus tax and labor cost was another $140. So I talked it over with dad and ordered the Sump kit, the hose clamp and a new diverter motor as mine was yellowed with age. The cost of all these parts and...

The bottom dishwasher rack was rusting and needed to be replaced Denise D. • Frederick , MD • January 28, 2017
I ordered a replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com, however the exact part for my Kitchen Aid dishwasher had been discontinued. There were two differences between the original and replacement part.
First, the original rack had two adjustable tine rows, but the replacement only had one. I was only able to attache one of them to the new rack. This didn't present any issue other than having less flexibility in customizing the configuration for loading large items on the rack.
The second...

ORDERED NEW SUMP AND DIVERTER MOTOR, THE SHAFT ON THE DIVERTER MOTOR FELT A LITTLE ROUGH SO I WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED IT, THE SUMP REPLACEMENT WENT FAIRLY EASY. HAD TO MAKE A TRIP TO THE HARDWARE STORE FOR A HOSE CLAMP. ONE HOSE ON THE SUMP HAS A CLAMP THAT IS NOT REUSEABLE. YOU SHOULD ALSO ORDER THIS CLAMP. IT IS NARROW AND A REGULAR HOSE CLAMP WILL NOT WORK.

Upper basket rails were falling apart Charles F. • Ashburn , VA • October 05, 2019
While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. So I ended up replacing all of the plastic pieces related...
