I have had the unfortunate problem of fixing this previously, so knew what to order. I ordered the defrost sensor and heater... and replaced both. Honestly, all I needed was the sensor I did and ohm test and got 0 on it... meaning it was bad, but just in case I replaced the heater. The fridge works great now, but I would suggest if this is your first time with this issue, remove the panel, unplug both sensors from the fridge, and do and ohm test while they are still in the fridge... and then... Once I was convinced that the water supply and filter wasn't the problem, I took the back protective panel and looked at the valve assembly. It looked corroded, especially on top where the ?pistons for the solenoids?would project into. I ordered the part and it was on my doorstep in TWO days...really fast. The part was slightly different from the one that I was replacing in that the part was "angled out." This was not a problem. All that did was tilt the fitting for the copper water line... Read more

This replacement lamp socket holds and powers the appliance light bulb, restoring clear, reliable illumination when the light is switched on. Replace a heat-damaged, cracked, or loose socket to stop flickering or a light that won't come on.
Was able to diagnose problem at AppliancePartsPros.com by entering the model #. This is apparently a common problem with this Refrigerator Replaced Light Socket Assembly, Lamp Reflector, Lamp Case and Lamp Cover. Also replaced the main circuit board (not sure if this was necessary). The wiring on the Light Socket Assembly was different than the original, so it was a bit confusing how to assemble it, and no screws were provided to attach it to the Lamp Reflector - figuring this out took most... ...after our refrigerator stopped working one of these mornings, I googled the symptom and was steered to a page where I was able to determine the possible culprit. To verify it, I left my cel recording inside and saw that the light stayed on. I was then directed to ALLPARTSPRO.COM, and was able to chat with a Rep, and after a short explanation told me to replace just the "push switchs"; so ordered them, plus the "light lens" and "cover", which had all melted for continuous lighting spanning...
