Fix a dryer that overheats or won't heat properly with a new cycling thermostat. Regulates temperature during drying cycles. DIY-friendly repair.
This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy. Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. I cleaned the entire inside and the vent pipe duct work. I found the blower wheel assembly worn. Though it was not cause of my problem, I decided to change it along with the igniter, heater relay and the fan belt. I... Read more

Burner won't light or spark? This top burner igniter creates the spark to ignite gas on your stovetop. Easy DIY repair in under 5 minutes with a screwdriver.
After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. The only difficulty was that although the cooktop pan appears symmetrical, the screw hole pattern on each side is different. I did... Read more

Sealed burner head for gas ranges. Sits on top of the cooktop to direct gas flow and create an even flame. Replace if cracked, corroded, or damaged.
I replaced the burner head. I turned off power to the stove, although I did not turn off the gas. I gave the old burner head a slight twist counter-clockwise until it lifted off the stove. I used the pliers to pull the wires from the old burner, then placed them onto the contacts on the new burner. Set it in place, and gave it a clockwise twist until it was snug. This stove originally came with gaskets beneath the burners, but the info for the replacement part stated that a gasket was not... Read more

Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Received the element very quickly but it had been damaged in shipping. Called AppliancePartsPros to report this and they quickly shipped another element - very easy process. To install the element, I turned off the power to the range, put on rubber gloves (just in case) and removed the two sheet metal crews at the rear of the oven -... Read more
Fastening screw for securing components inside appliances. Replaces lost, stripped, or damaged screws during repairs or part installations.
Bought and installed new hinges. Repair took about an hour but I also cleaned all the glass inside and out on both oven doors. I had ordered extra screws as I read the old ones that hold the hinges were hard to get in as they were self taping but the screw labeled 5 next to the hinge were not the right ones. All old screws worked fine. You just need to put a little power to them to get them started. Easy repair. Read more

Washer won't spin or drive pulley cover fell off? This retaining pin collar secures the transmission shaft. DIY repair in under 1 hour with panel access.
The collar pin sheared off in the transmission of my Maytag washer. Watching on-line videos of removing the transmission looked like major project. With the front panel removed, you can repair the transmission without removing it from the washer. Remove the front panel, lay the washer on its back, rotate the transmission assembly so the cover is up. Unbolt and remove the cover, put a pan under the transmission and rotate it to drain the oil. Be sure to find all of the collar pin that... Read more
