Burner in glass top range control only has off or full on modes Edward A. • Brookfield , WI • August 11, 2015
Based on internet search and data found on APPLIANCE PARTS PRO, I deduced that the "infinite control " module was most likely bad. Replaced it and all is good.
Toughest part was remembering how to disengage cooktop from down draft blower and then pulling the cook top up in within it's opening. Once pulled up, I put short 2x4's across the opening corners to support the cooktop safely while I worked on it. Next issue was figuring out exactly which screws held the glass top in place. As...

Range dual surface unit would only go on in "high" setting not on any other settingsje Kenneth C. • Tolland , CT • July 28, 2015
Replace dual infinity switch. The only difficulty is the terminal labels on the new switch did not match at all with the terminal labels on the original switch. The enclosed instructions were NOT helpful. But I contacted your representative, Johnny, and he was most helpful and patient. From my model number he located very specific and detailed instructions for how to wire the new switch. The rest of the job was easy. Your representative was outstanding. Thanks.

The right rear smaller surface heating element on our 6898vvd magic chef flat top range was completely dead Eugene N. • Riverside , CA • July 16, 2025
The instructions that came with the replacement smaller surface heating element provided no help about how to open the top of the range, so I checked the internet. I found several videos on replacement of surface elements in flat top ranges, but none for our particular range, so I Google-searched a simple question, “How to open the top of a 6898VVD Magic Chef range”. The AI Overview answer had several points, most of them not useful, except for the last one: “Hidden Clips: There might be...

One surface element and part of the top glass are broken Jason S. • Cupertino , CA • November 18, 2014
First, I just unscrewed all nuts that are holding the frame and all surface elements. Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Due to the weight of the glass, all actions have to be done carefully as I broken one corner of the glass couple of years ago when I replaced one of the control switch.
