Bought a used Frigidaire 36 inch stove. The broiler didn't come on but the burners lit and the stove worked so I made do for about 4 or 5 years with that. One day, while trying to roast chicken on the convection roast setting, my Electrolux oven stopped heating properly. I tried the broil setting and the top electric heating element worked fine. I then tried the bake setting and found that the bottom element wasn't working at all. I Googled the problem. Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. I replaced the probe which is a thermocouple. Naturally the connector was different from the one on the stove so I cut off the connector on the old probe and soldered it to the new probe. The cleaning of the wires and soldering them was the most time consuming activity of the repair. My wife just tried the stove and the oven temperature read exactly as the setting. Read more

Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more

When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. Andrew helped me trouble shoot the problem. First I replaced the elments but that did not fix the problem. When I spoke with Andrew he told me how to test the OHMS on the new and old element and they were both readying 26 OHMS. I then replaced the control panel for the clock and oven controls.
