This OEM replacement part is the main control board for washers. The main control board is the part that controls the functions of the dryer. It is the main component that sends signals to the washer to perform its intended functions, controlling the desired washer settings. If the washer is no longer turning on, spinning properly, or effectively washing, it might be time to replace the main control board. While it might seem difficult to replace this part, it's actually a simple process. First, pull the washer forward to access the back panel. Remove the upper back panel. Push the front of the control panel and pry it up with a putty knife removing it from the mounting brackets. Disconnect any wires attached to the old control board, and be sure to take note of which wires go where by taking a photo with a phone camera. Remove the mounting screws from the control board. Release the locking tabs and pull the control board out of the console. Position the new board in place and pop it into the locking tabs. Reconnect the wires into the back of the new control board. This genuine control board is sold individually is compatible with GE, Hotpoint, RCA, and Sears/Kenmore brand washers.

I was able to find a bearing kit on a very popular internet sales site and replaced the bearings rather than buying the rear tub with the bearings already installed. This was worth it to me but not for the faint of heart... Read more
