I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. The engineer who designed this oven should be invited to succeed elsewhere. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Appliances will be sold with the house so the old oven racks were no longer shiny. Replacement racks present a better looking oven. Read more

Full disassembly of removable tray into top plate (stainless) and lower pan taking care not to loose fasteners. Removal of terminal blocks using lubrication on rusted screws and, if necessary, drill out technique. Unclip wires from edges of the tray on both sides without losing the clips for future re-use. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length.
