The Valve Dual Water is an OEM part for GE refrigerators, specifically designed to control the flow of water to both the icemaker and the water dispenser. This dual-function valve ensures that water is properly directed to the icemaker for ice production and to the dispenser for fresh drinking water, maintaining an optimal flow and pressure that is crucial for the refrigerator's operation.
Over time, the dual water valve can fail due to mineral deposits from hard water, wear and tear from regular use, or electrical issues. A malfunctioning valve can disrupt the water supply to the ice maker and water dispenser, affecting their performance.
Symptoms of a bad Valve Dual Water include:
- No water dispensing at the dispenser
- Irregular or no ice production
- Leaks or drips from the water inlet area
- Unusual noises coming from the valve when it’s supposed to be operating
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
