Torsion spring that returns the dispenser ice chute door to closed position. Replace if broken, weak, or missing to restore proper door closure.
I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. I also ordered a new micro switch since one of the switches had started to require more and more pressure to actuate. Figured I'd fix it at the same time. Repair was very straightforward and the videos available on this and other repair sites were very helpful. I found a video that showed replacing the door mechanism on a nearly identical... Read more
Wire shelf that installs in the upper section of your refrigerator's freezer compartment. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing for better organization.
I bought a shelf but was unable to insert it. The shelf should have been added when the refrig was assembled. I called your company, spoke with Danielle and was given a 20% discount offer for all the part I needed to replace. The 20% discount from Frigidaire was much higher in price than parts ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com. I took my shelf to Home Depot and had an employee cut off a portion of one prong. I was then able to insert the shelf. I used a screwdriver to remove the plastic... Read more

Panel has codes on it (S or 5 E CE, later that changes to S or 5 Y CE). Research of codes says replace main board and control board. Not sure where this main board is. 22 Sep call appliance repair. Ice not dispensing or auger won't turn? The drive bar transfers motor rotation to crush and dispense ice. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. All appeared fine then two days later the ice dispenser stopped. I watched a couple of videos and most pointed to the ice auger motor. One video specifically said you... Read more

Ice won't dispense or grinds loudly? A bent or worn crusher blade is often the culprit. This blade fits inside the ice bucket assembly. Easy DIY fix.
This is the second time of needing repair. I remove the ice bucket, open the crusher, remove the 5 blades. Straighten the blades, reinstall. I then order new blades, The next time it happens I will install the new blades. The reason for the malfunction, (my guess), two ice cubes partially melted stick together and the size and angel the enter crusher cause the problem. I don't see it as the crusher problem or the blades being to weak. The ice container gets over full, opening and closing the... Read more
Collects water from evaporator defrost cycles. Mounts near compressor under refrigerator. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged to prevent odors.
Previously, I removed the lower rear cardboard back of the unit and saw the crack in the defrost pan. It was probably damaged when unit was moved using appliance hand truck. I looked up the part number AP4319611 in the exploded view diagrams of the unit. The part was ordered and delivered in a few short days. Emptied the unit and removed all shelves/glass to avoid damage since the unit must be tilted enough to reach under and remove two 1/4 inch hex screws. Tilted to the right side (facing... Read more
