I watched several videos to identify the problem, worn/broken cam riser on bottom door hinge. I ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com to replace the cam. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong part due to the pitiful GE door assembly diagram and parts description I was unable to complete the repair. Ordered replacement parts from website, watched the video on the AppliancePartsPro's website, and took 5 minutes to loosen, slide off, and slide on the new parts. Looks like a brand-new appliance without those yellowed handles! Read more

Found on-line troubleshooting guides. Checked motherboard, showed infinite ohms on heater/thermostat circuit. Took apart freezer compartment, found defrost heater element was toast. Got parts from Appliance Part Pros. Use their How-To videos and parts diagrams to replace heater and gasket. Put freezer back together, and refrigerator got cool. Read more
Discovered evap coil was frozen. Defrost heater was defective and needed replacing. Read more
The repair videos were VERY helpful. Took off the inside freezer panel and defrosted the coils. the frig worked great while I waited for the parts to be delivered. Next replaced the defrost element and thermostat. Replaced the waterline to the Icemaker. It was as easy as the videos showed. Could not get the water line out of the door and the part did not look the same. So I called the helpline. Found out I needed to remove the freezer door inside panel. Did so and replace the line.
