This evaporator fan motor dust cap is an authentic OEM replacement part found on refrigerator and freezer fan motors. This dust cap prevents the fan motor bearing and housing from being damaged by dirt and debris. If the dust cap is cracked or broken, the fan may make loud squealing noises. If the dust cap is not removed and replaced, the fan could stop working and ultimately cause the refrigerator's temperature to be affected. To start, disconnect the power and water to the refrigerator. Remove food from the freezer so that the back panel of the freezer can be accessed to reach the fan. Remove the ice maker and set it outside the freezer. Disconnect the fan and take it out of the freezer to expose the fan's shaft and the dust cover. Pry the dust cover off and install the new one. Replace the fan and cover. Reconnect the wires and reinstall the icemaker. Put the food back in the freezer. Reconnect the power and water. The evaporator fan motor dust cap is a white plastic part that is sold individually. This dust cover is made for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric, Hotpoint, and Kenmore.

The hinge broke on the ice dispenser funnel and housing. I took them off and replace them, putting the old switches and bulb in the new housing. It took some time to put the return spring back because it does not appear in the assembly diagram. Once working, it secures to the door with 4 screws, and worked as it should. The support slide inside the freezer is held with two 1/4 in screws that were taken off with a nut driver. the rear screw is hard to get at. The new bracket just screws on, and... Read more

I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video. The video was not specific enough to show how to reassemble the ice crusher blades and the two types of washers. I found another video on YouTube that walked me through specific details of assembly and everything went... Read more

This screw is a genuine General Electric part, sold individually. This screw can be used as a replacement part for a refrigerator. A screw can suffer damage in the lifespan of a refrigerator. It can also be easily lost or misplaced. Screws are small parts and are usually installed in multiples to ensure components are reliably attached, so one screw loosening or going missing might not necessarily affect the operability of the refrigerator. However, if the components loosen or the screw suffers damage that strips the part, such as punctures or erosion to the metal material from general wear and tear or from a direct impact, the screw should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. This screw is compatible with the following appliance brands: General Electric, Hotpoint, RCA, and Americana.
I ordered the new slides for the shelves, the order came in a couple of days. All parts were there. The husband installed new slides and bearings in about 20 minutes with minimal effort. He said the hardest part was contorting his torso to be able to use the screwdriver. All good thank you. Read more
This refrigerator lamp socket holds an E12-base appliance bulb and provides the electrical connection for the light fixture. Replace it when the light won't turn on or flickers despite a known-good bulb and functioning door switch.
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. Water line from water valve up to icemaker fill tube.
Thanks to the AppliancePartsPro, I ordered it online and received it quickly. I even used the step by step directions on how to replace the tube from the AppliancePartsPro website. Just be very careful and review the instructions first. Couple of important things: 1. Take a picture of the existing wiring and tubes before you take them apart. 2. *if* you remove the wires ( red and white plugs) from the valve, make sure you plug them back in correctly. 3. Do not pull or push the tubes hard. Use... Read more
The recess door retainer secures the dispenser's ice chute flapper in the refrigerator door. Replacing a cracked or missing retainer restores proper flapper pivot and sealing to help reduce frost buildup and air leaks around the dispenser.
I replaced the solenoid, door, spring and bucket. The bucket cracked from ice freezing inside it. Ice froze inside the bucket because the solenoid stopped pulling the door closed which allowed hot humid air into the freezer. While I was in there I replaced the dispenser door, spring and crank because they are cheap and the old ones were moldy. The mold is most likely from the door not closing and causing condensation on the parts as well. Read more
