Secures the inner tub to the outer tub in top-load washers. Replace if hub is cracked, broken, or rusted out to restore proper drum alignment and stability.
The machine stopped working with a bang. There were chunks of large metal at the bottom. The drive plate had rusted through. My first step was to put a rag in the tub drain hole and save the pump. Except for grinding/chiseling off a frozen-corroded-rusty solid mass. The repair was rather easy. A couple of channel lock wrenches and a hammer didn't budge it. A monkey wrench will just round it off. You need that 1 11/6" wrench. The spindle nut was really stuck on there for my 14+ yo washer. I... Read more
Connects the pressure switch to the tub in top-load washers. Replace if cracked, punctured, or brittle to restore proper water level monitoring.
I replaced the water level switch and hose. After removing the hose, I found that it was clogged, and did not allow the water level to be sensed by the switch. A test after the replacement of the parts was successful. While filling the tub, the water shut off at the small, medium, and large levels as indicated by the switch. Read more
Hex head screws for securing panels and components in ranges and ovens. Replace missing, stripped, or corroded fasteners during repairs or reassembly.
I pulled off the retaining clip with pliers then removed the old knob and timer dial. I replaced all the parts with the new ones and used pliers to reinstall the clip. The teeth on the new knob engage to select the cycle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQwLtRcHx9k Read more
The Agitator is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire washing machines. This component is responsible for moving clothes during the wash cycle, ensuring that water and detergent are evenly distributed for effective cleaning. The agitator's motion helps to loosen dirt and stains from fabrics. The agitator measures approximately 17" tall
Causes of a bad agitator can include wear and tear over time, damage from washing heavy or unbalanced loads, or issues with the agitator’s internal mechanisms that reduce its efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad Agitator include:
This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.
This was a fairly easy fix. The only problem I had was that the cover over the retaining nut was difficult to pull off. I changed to a larger pair of pliers and put a little more muscle to it and it popped right out. There was a little corrosion on the shaft that needed to scraped off for the new agitator to slide on easily but after that was gone the new part slid on and with some downward pressure it seated in. Enables smooth drum rotation in your washer. Replace if you hear loud roaring or whirling noises during spin cycle. Confirm fit with your model number.
I replaced the spin bearing, tub seal, washer and drive belt since I had it all apart. The video was extremely helpful...I would have tore the whole thing apart trying to figure out how the agitator came off....but it was very simple. Read more
Replace your washer's control panel button if it's cracked, broken, or missing. This snap-in component installs on the control panel face plate.
All I had to do was remove 3, 1/4" screws from the back and take the front off. Two 5/16th screws hold the circuit board in place, remove them and press the button into the hole from the back. Replace the circuit board, slide the front back on and install the three 1/4" screws. Always unplug the washer first! Read more
Fix loud whirling noise during spin cycle with this washer spin bearing washer. Supports the belt pulley bearing for smooth rotation. Video available.
Drain pump inlet hose for top-load washers. Connects the tub to the pump assembly. Replace if cracked, leaking, or has holes causing water on the floor.
The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge. Putting the new parts on was an easy 5 minute job. Read more
Washer won't fill with water or only fills with hot? The water inlet valve controls water flow into the tub. DIY repair takes about 30 minutes.
This is my third repair of this type. The first was a stand-alone washer and was very easy, because there was a plate on which the inlet valve assembly was mounted, and it was easily removed. This repair was on a Frigidaire stacked washer/dryer (laundry center). Stacked washer/dryers are typically purchased to save space and are often tucked into a closet. Be sure you can pull it out to access both front and rear. Remove drain hose from drain, detach water hoses, electricity and dryer vent... Read more
Fabric softener not dispensing or agitator loose? This washer dispenser cup sits atop the agitator. Simple DIY fix—twist off and replace in minutes.
Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. The only additional feature we would have liked was a softener dispenser. Located a GE model of the same genre that used the same coupler and took the leap to get the agitator and dispenser cup for this model (WJRR4170). Replaced the old agitator with new one and dispenser cup. Worked perfectly! We now have a washer with dispenser that works great and saved... Read more
Supports the washer tub and absorbs vibration during cycles. Replace if corroded, worn, or broken to prevent drum sagging and banging during operation.
I have a 14 year old GE washing machine that had been making a lot of noise while running but had eventually just stopped flat. The agitator and spin cycle would not run. I found this site and made excellent use of all the repair videos to study about my issue. I put in my machine model number and I Immediately was able to start honing in on what my problem could be from website advice about popular repair parts, stories others had shared about their similar machine issues and watching videos,... Washer won't spin or agitate? A faulty lid switch magnet may be the cause. This part signals the switch that the lid is closed. Easy 20-minute DIY fix.
Replaced lid switch and lid magnet. Took just a little longer then 20 minutes as I had to splice in the new lid switch as it wasn't one that was a clip in, it was hard wired in. Read more
Suspension rod and spring assembly for washer drum stability. Replaces worn, broken, or weakened suspension components causing drum movement or sagging.
Installation tool designed for installing washer drive belts. Provides proper leverage and positioning to seat belts correctly on pulleys and motor shafts.
Fix a washer that won't spin or agitates but doesn't spin properly. This mode shifter assembly switches between agitate and spin cycles. Advanced repair.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more
