Replace a cracked, broken, or missing timer knob assembly on your dryer. Includes dial, stem, and mounting components for setting drying cycles.
I ordered the timer and knob on Monday, they arrived around noon on Tuesday, and within an hour I had them installed and back in business. I was amazed how quickly the parts got here. The online video showing the procedure step by step was very helpful. Instead of disconnecting all the wires and having to keep up with which one went where, I moved each wire one by one and made sure I didn't get any of them in the wrong place. The only thing that slowed me down a bit was seeing which side of the... Read more
Replacement drain hose directs used water from your washer to the household drain. Needed when original hose is cracked, split, or leaking.
Our washer is next door the bathroom. So when, during the rinse cycle, the hose split and we found the back of the house completely flooded I initially assumed the culprit was either the toilet or the sink or possibly an interdimentional portal into a demonic netherworld of vaguely chlorine scented water. I spent the next hour mopping it all up and checking and re-checking the pipes in the bathroom with no apparent leaks. The next load of laundry left more clues as this time the flood was from... Replaces missing, stripped, or rusted 8-18 thread screws that secure dryer panels, brackets, and components for tight, rattle-free assembly.
It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I want to tell you this is a 2 person job. In order to assemble it you need to... Read more
Replacement water fill hoses for washing machines. Connect home water supply to washer. Replace when cracked, leaking, or showing rubber wear or corrosion.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

Washer motor won't start or stops mid-cycle? This motor start capacitor stores electrical energy to start your washer motor. Moderate DIY repair.
I found your site which was most helpful. I saw on your forum, that others had replaced a motor & capacitor with + results. I was willing to spend what I thought was a reasonable amount & your guarantee was the clincher. I knew that if I called the appliance store where we had purchased the washer in 1998, it would be very expensive & even more important, it would take many days as they would have to order the part & then schedule a service call. I installed the motor & capacitor & was... Read more

Fix a washer that won't drain or makes whining sounds with this pump and motor assembly. Common causes: debris lodged in pump or burned-out motor.
When I removed a bunch of very wet soaking towels at the end of a wash cycle, it was clear that the water was not draining properly. The washer also made a very loud noise during the water drain period. That was suspicious. I ordered the part, opened the washer, removed the old pump and faced with a nasty surprise. You may laugh at this, but there was a toothpick in the old drain pump! most of it was still there, and it seemed like the toothpick was stuck in the pump in such a position that it... Read more
