I ordered a new mode selector and new tub bearing. Upon disassembly, I noticed that the plastic outer tub had actually heated up around the tub bearing and tub seal area, such that the new tub seal did not fit tightly. Replaced the hub nut, tub bearing split ring, tub seal, hub washer and agitator coupler. I watched multiple times the APP video. I took the front panel off and exposed the mechanism. Inside the shield is a capacitor, so I guessed that the capacitor was bad. I ordered a new shield which contains a new capacitor, installed it, and the washer now works normally again.
