The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE ovens. It is responsible for providing the necessary heat for baking, ensuring that the oven reaches and maintains the correct temperature for consistent and even cooking results. Measuring 18" from side to side, 17-3/8" from the mounting bracket to the back, and 2 3/4" between terminal centers, it's designed to deliver 2585 Watts at 240 Volts.

Causes of a bad bake element can include regular wear and tear from repeated heating cycles, electrical failures such as short circuits or blown fuses, and physical damage like cracks or breaks from mishandling.

Symptoms of a bad bake element include:

The oven not heating up or taking too long to heat
Uneven cooking or baking results
Visible damage, such as burns or breaks, on the element
The oven tripping the circuit breaker

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Figured out how to take oven apart then removed all the old insulation. Throughly cleaned every thing and black taped the wire where the mice chewed on it. I ordered this insulation and didn't use the oven until it came in. Once I received it I took the oven back apart and placed the insulation in place. Every thing was precut to size. Super easy to install! Then put everything back together. Oven is good as new. Read more
