I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more

I ordered a new fan control switch button to replace the old one. When it arrived I noticed that the "pop up" feature was not working on the new switch. I called Appliance Parts Pros and told them the control switch was defective. The representative said that they would send a new part, refund the shipping charges and give me a discount on my next order! That's REAL customer service! The part arrived in two days. I installed it and it worked perfectly! Read more

Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more
This was an easy fix on my Jenn-Air: I just had to lift the cooktop out of the counter and then take out a few screws around the sides of the unit to lift off the old glass surface. Then just set the new glass top in place and put the screws back. The burners, etc. are not connected to the glass cooktop so you don't have to do disconnect/connect them or any other internal parts.
