Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Oven door wouldn't close tightly new hinges didn't fix the problem   Paul S. • East Wenatchee , WA • October 26, 2020

All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years. Electrodes & Harness H.V.
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB18X31472

The High Voltage Harness & Electrodes is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. This burner harness and electrode assembly makes sure there is proper operation of the range's gas surface burners. Causes of a bad high-voltage harness and electrode assembly can include damage from corrosion, cracks or shorts in the wiring, or deterioration of the electrodes over many ignitions and heat cycles.

Symptoms of a faulty harness and electrodes include:

  • Gas burners that will not light or ignite
  • Surface elements that intermittently fail to function
  • Burners that produce an inconsistent or irregular flame

This GE replacement part is compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bought open box range that was set up for propane and needed to change it back to natural gas.   Brinna Z. • Oakdale , MN • August 03, 2020

My only option to get the natural gas orifices was to buy the tubing with it. This was easy; I simply switched out the lp orifices with the natural gas using a socket. However, I still found one burner not lighting. I came to find out by looking underneath the top that the tubing was broken. So I lucked out on needing the tube holder for that burner. But I will mention, it would still be nice if I could have found the natural gas orifices sold separately. No one sells these separately from the... Read more

Orifice Holder
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB28X24763

The Oven Orifice Spud LP is an OEM part for GE gas ovens. This part controls the flow of liquid propane (LP) gas into the oven burner box. The oven orifice spud plays a role in gas combustion, adjusting flow to match the needs of a liquid propane system. It connects directly to the gas supply, so an improperly sized or damaged spud can lead to gas leaks or incomplete burning.

Causes of a bad oven orifice spud include normal wear over time from constant heating cycles, exposure to cleaning chemicals, or damage during part replacement.

Symptoms of needing a replacement include:

  • Uneven or inconsistent oven heating
  • Extended cooking times or inability to reach desired temperatures
  • Gas smell coming from the oven area
  • Visible damage or cracks on the spud itself

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
