This genuine replacement part is an oven control board. The oven control board is the main circuit board that controls the ovens' essential functions. If the oven isn't heating properly, not turning on, or showing an error code on the digital display, it might be time to replace the control board. Replacing a control board may seem like a difficult task, but it is a relatively simple process. Start by unplugging the range. After that, move the appliance away from the wall to gain access to the back. Remove the upper back panel, and locate the control board. Take note of the orientation of the wires using a phone camera. Then detach the wire harness from the old control board. Remove any individual wires with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Then re-attach the wires to the new control board in the correct terminals. Snap the new control board into place and re-install the upper back panel of the range. This OEM replacement part is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.
A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power, disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ... Contacted GE for a replacement knob--and their cost was over $56 for one simple knob and shipping. Knowing that was completely unreasonable (it's a simple plastic part), I searched the web and found AppliancePartsPros. I ordered on a Thursday, and received it Friday--the next day! We updated a 'not so old' Biscuit GE Range to BLACK. It was easy to figure out what parts I needed by using the selection process on the web-site, I ordered parts then followed the pictures and videos provided to change out the handle, panel, drawer and knobs, I used two metal look back splash panels on the door to give it a rustic look and am very happy with the result. The range looks great in my newly remodeled kitchen Read more
1) Removed knobs. 2) Removed large nuts under knobs, which allowed me to lift the cover. 3) At this point I could see the bolts holding down the key panel, which I removed. 4) The key panel is attached by a wire ribbon to the controller underneath it, so I removed the bolts holding it in place. 5) The wire ribbon is held in place on the control panel by a plastic wedge. Pulling the wedge out, released the old wire ribbon. 6) Putting the new wire ribbon and reinserting the plastic wedge secured... Read more
