I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more

Replace your cracked, rusted, or stained 8-inch range drip pan. Installs under the large burner to catch spills and protect your cooktop surface.
I spent hours searching for the right trays, knowing only that the stove is GE, and what the trays look like, including exact dimensions. I ordered one set that had exact measurements, and they even explained how the measurements are taken. But the trays were larger than described by 3/8 inch, and I had to pay shipping to return them. I suggested that they correct their description, but the lady did not think I was right. I said just measure them yourself, as per the method that your... Read more

Burner won't adjust temperature or stuck on high? This surface burner control switch restores heat control. Quick 10-minute fix with basic tools.
Stove is a GE Adora Model JBP63HH2bb. It took me forever to figure out how the burner was attached to the rails. My glass top was different than any instructions found on the internet for changing out a burner. The burners on this one are held to the bottom of the glass cook top by two rails that cross the bottom of the burner assemblies. In order to get too the burners you must remove 4 Phillips screws to lower the rails and burners from the cooktop. I suggest two people do this because... Read more

Fix F2 or F3 error codes with a new oven temperature sensor. Restores accurate heating when your oven shuts off or won't maintain temperature. 10-15 min DIY.
In the middle of Christmas baking, I noticed that it was taking a really long time to bake bread. Since I had already done 5 batches and the timing was always the same, I knew when I had to add 20 min, something was wrong. My oven thermometer (I bought at target) no longer worked so it was hard to tell the exact temperature. First, I went and bought a new thermometer to see the actual temp, then I set the oven to 350 degrees and checked to see what the thermometer was showing. It was almost 50... Read more
Oven not heating or baking unevenly? A failed bake element is the likely cause. This DIY repair typically takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools.
I wanted to get the upper oven baking element replaced; it hasn't been working for a few months. This double oven has had two other issues, there is a fan that comes on to cool the electronics panel, That fan has made excessive noise and it operates for 2-3 hours after the oven turns off. The other problem with the oven is the Self-Cleaning feature runs for about 15-30 minutes and then turns off with an error code. I've had a local appliance repair person in to address the error code and... Read more
Burner not heating or intermittently going out? This large surface element restores consistent cooking heat. Simple 5-minute DIY replacement. Video included.
I wasn't sure if it was the heating element surface, the receptacle or the switch. My wife does some canning so it had some good use. It turned out to be the receptacle. I purchased the element as well thinking it needed replaced anyway. All works now. All three items are/would be easy to change. Read more
Burner not heating? Replace the element receptacle and wire kit. Fixes burned or broken receptacles causing inoperative burners. DIY-friendly repair.
I ordered the recommended Infinite Heat Switch Kit and Element Receptacle and Wire Kit and installed them. The latter was a breeze, appearing to be exactly the same as the original, except for the wire color. The switch, though, was another story. It is a RobertShaw "replacement" part, designed, it seems, for use in the greatest number of original units as possible. The most obvious difference between this switch and the original (besides its comparatively small size) is the long, segmented... Read more

Stovetop burner not heating? This surface heating element generates heat for cooking. Simple plug-in replacement—pull out old, plug in new.
I lifted the front hood and removed the back control panel cover. I then replaced two terminal blocks with the new kits. Perfect match except wires were a bit long. So I rolled them up neatly and tucked them away at the control center. Used electrical tape to band both sets of wire and protect them from the metal edges between the range and control area. I replaced the control cover and installed two new burners. Perfect installation. Read more
