Grille Vent
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB07X10968

The Grille Vent is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It is designed to fit above the microwave door, facilitating the ventilation of steam and heat generated during cooking. This grille helps to maintain optimal operating temperatures and prevents overheating by ensuring proper airflow across the microwave's internal components.

Causes for grille vent damage typically involve prolonged exposure to heat and moisture, which can degrade the material of the grille over time.

Symptoms of a bad Grille Vent include:

  • Cracking or warping due to high heat exposure
  • Restricted airflow that may cause the microwave to overheat
  • Increased noise levels as the fan struggles to pull air through the blocked or damaged vent

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud sizzeling noise when heating food   Brian P. • Port Deposit , MD • December 27, 2014

After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. I ordered the parts from Appliance... Read more
