Upper cooling blower was making loud noise no error code Raymond M. • Mundelein , IL • February 06, 2016
I have a 10 year old Kitchenaid double oven with warming drawer below and electrical connection is located in cabinet below. I order a service manual from http://www.allrepairmanuals.com. If you have the service manual follow it, it walks a technician thru each step. If you don't have a manual here are a few highlights. Disclaimer the following is for my oven model KEBS208DBL8, your oven service steps may vary.
IMPORTANT! First step turn-off the power to the oven (mine was a 40 amp breaker)...

Heat loss due to old worn door gasket door insulation damaged Raymond M. • Mundelein , IL • February 09, 2016
Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer.
The Door Insulation is a very involved repair, and best to follow specific repair manual instructions. Door...

Stopped working while in self cleaning mode. Eberhard L. • Raleigh , NC • March 17, 2023
This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning.
I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Took doors off (watch video from others), unscrewed from the wall, and made a very small platform. and took the oven out (need two people and take the doors off first. The doors are heavy and you won't lift the...

Broken outer glass on lower oven door James F. • Durham , NC • May 03, 2015
I recently shattered the outer glass on my Whirlpool oven door. (Side note for lesson learned...don't swat at a fly with a broom when its on the oven door. I didnt swing hard just a love tap but thats all it took ha ha) The toughest part of the fix was removing the broken glass as it had shattered into hundreds...no thousands of pieces. Thankfully it was taped on the inside and that held some of it together. I placed the door in our garbage can and put on a pair of gloves with a scraper to...

Replaced both hinges... simple repair, took about 20 minutes. My only issue is that I replaced these hinges a year and a half ago to repair the same problem. Seems like Whirlpool could have designed a better door.

Oven not heating. Randy M. • Fort Wayne , IN • September 10, 2019
Whirlpool convection oven. Access to convection element from inside. Three screws to remove plate covering fan blade. Then one screw to remove element bracket. I placed tape over the holes with the wires so they wouldn’t pull back into the panel. Remove old element at tabs and replace. Very easy fix. Removing door to oven made it easier to get to but not necessary.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Double oven would not work correctly/runaway high temp cycle (control board problem) also oven lights would not come on. David S. • Hartwell , GA • June 19, 2023
Studied schematics and watched many on-line videos. Did some electrical checks with VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter). Determined that control panel thermal fuse attached to back of control panel had opened due to high temp. Determined that the upper oven thermal fuse on back of oven had opened due to high temp. Determined that transformer that supplies power to lights was bad (open primary).
Removed control panel circuit board and had it repaired/verified good. Faulty control panel was the reason that oven...

The light assembly had shorted out Mickie P. • Vestavia Hills , AL • May 22, 2017
If you don't mind taking the side and back off of the oven it is pretty simple to fish the line around to the plug in the back. You may want to check the type of plug before you order the part since some are male and others are female. I initially ordered the wrong plug for my oven and I have to order the female plug.
