Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Replacement of rusty inner basket   Michael K. • Paramus , NJ • April 18, 2015

Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros - super fast shipping, and even though I opted for regular shipping all of my parts arrived the very next day, including the big and bulky inner basket. Disassembly went smoothly, simply following the directions in the AppliancePartsPros video. The only problem I had was that the inner basket simply would NOT come of the drive block no matter what I did. Struggled for a few hours trying to take it off. Then, I called AppliancePartsPros and they said it... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The door springs and guides on our dishwasher were damaged when my wife fell on the open door   George A. • Montville , NJ • March 22, 2020

I removed the lower door panel and kickplate (4 screws) to access the door springs. Replaced the door springs by hand. The nylon guides, through which the door guides travel, were easy to replace. I removed the broken ones and snapped in the new ones. I recommend a drop of epoxy on the upper portion of each guide to keep it from shifting. The impact on the door apparently distorted the frame slightly so the door drops slightly below level when fully opened and the lower rack movement is impeded... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water leaking out the bottom door when appliance running   Thomas S. • Temple , NH • May 08, 2015

Replaced seal around tub which matches up to the door. Note: Once you receive the replacement seal/gasket you will be able to see how the gasket is attached to the tub. I used a firm flat blade scraping putty knife to depress the clips....once you receive the gasket you'll understand what I'm referring to. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher would not turn on   Judy H. • Tulsa , OK • June 30, 2014

The part arrived earlier than stated. I rounded up the tools I needed - had to buy a star screwdriver to remove the panel. I watched a youtube tutorial on line before hand - very helpful. I followed the instructions step by step and had no problem removing and replacing the part. I am a 60 year old woman and I only mention that because normally I would have just called a repairman but I thought what the heck - I'll give it a try. this was very easy to do and saved me a repairman's charge. watch... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The channel gasket for the kitchenaid dishsher door had deteriorated with age   Donna G. • Kamuela , HI • January 14, 2015

With the telephone help from one of the pros we selected a part that was as close to the original part as possible. The dishwasher is some 25 years old and the original part has been long discontinued but with the help of your "pro" the part we installed has fitted with out a hitch and working nicely. The only thing that was not good was the fact that a diagram was not included with the part to show the installation of the part. Fortunately our repairman is a very knowledgable guy and so all... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaky gasket due to foul water supplied by local water provider this was the second occurrence in five years   Patrick H. • Montgomery , IL • April 17, 2015

Pulled dishwasher from under counter, disconnecting water supply pipe for access. Removed vent and fouled gasket and cleaned pieces with CLR. Reinstalled gasket, reconnected water supply and repositioned dishwasher under counter. Not particularly easy for DIYer but can be done. As a side note, I ordered 2 gaskets for the first repair so one was readily available. When the subsequent repair was finished, I order 2 more, due to low price, for backup. Read more
