Washer won't start or spin? A faulty lid switch prevents operation when the lid position isn't detected. Simple clip-in replacement, typically done in 10 minutes.
Took off the back of the top pushed the switch forward and lifted it out after I unplugged it. Put the new switch in the opposite of how I took it out, plugged in the wires put the back on and finished my laundry. Read more

Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint. Replaced the plastic hinge-balls and one of the lid support/bumper grommet. Leaking water at the tub ring during fill? This lower water injector channels incoming water into the tub. Simple 30-minute DIY repair with basic tools.
An easy fix for the most part. I had no idea what I was doing, but glad I bought both upper and lower injectors. Not sure why these are separate parts? Cheap plastic. I did not get the hose clamp because I didn't think I would need it. You probably do, so go ahead and just order it or grab one if you have one laying around. We watched the video before we purchased the parts for this project. We wanted to make sure exactly what parts we would need. Thanks for having this information available. We purchased the mounting stem repair kit,,tub bearing kit, 3 new bolt/washers that hold the outer tub in place and the spanner wrench. Cleaned everything...
