Another note, you can get a pulley for your replacement motor pulley on eBay and Maytag.com. Just pay close attention to...

Old Maytag washer rust on lid edges Ulf N. • Swampscott , MA • October 05, 2019
Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint. Replaced the plastic hinge-balls and one of the lid support/bumper grommet. It was actually easier to install the lid than removing it; used a small amount of grease to hold both balls in place, by holding the lid vertical and placing the left side to the inserted ball and then pushing the right side down. The lid slides...

Dryer motor failed Randall S. • Huntsville , TX • October 03, 2014
I've read several reports about how "easy and quick" it was to replace the motor. All I can say is, "nonsense". It wasn't as easy as others reported, but for someone with decent tool skills, it was a very doable home repair - just be prepared to spend some time on it.
First, the motor needs to be accessed from the FRONT of the dryer. This means removing the two cover panels to access the interior. NOTE: take photos as you go of how all interior pieces for together to make reassembly easier -...

Pretty much everything Charlotteanne Y. • Kingston , IL • August 06, 2018
Here's the story. All my appliances except the dryer broke. Yeah. talk about bad luck. First I tried to fix the refrigerator. Replaced both motherboard and inverter board. Now it wakes up but the compressor does not kick in. Need another part. The washer, well I have to pull out the sink to get enough room to pull out the washer to fix it. Since the refriigerator is still in the middle of the kitchen, I don't need to tear apart another room. Nevertheless, let me say this, I love my "older"...
