Part ordered installed (easy), fixed problem for two loads of wash. Dryer then ran but did not heat. Researched on web and tested thermal interrupt fuses. Ordered (easy install) and now all is well. In the course of the fix it became apparent that the exhaust vent had rotted open on the portion resting on the floor. This was blowing hot air into and below the dryer and opened the fuse. There's a metal piece that the lint filter pushes down into that got bent a bit I guess and ended up skewering the lint filter. I got it loose but couldn't get the metal piece to stay where it was supposed to be to operate without catching the lint filter. I think it's there to prevent things like socks from hitting the blower wheel. When the new part came in I had to take the front cover off the blower wheel. I had a problem with the drain pump on my Kenmore HE3 and I replaced it using a drain pump I ordered from APP. That fixed that problem but once I started running the washer I started getting a FH error code. I looked it up and found that it was a problem with the washer not filling properly.
