This drain adapter assembly links the dishwasher's drain outlet to the drain hose leading to a sink drain or garbage disposer, creating a secure, watertight discharge path. Replacing a damaged adapter helps stop leaks and supports proper draining.
- Adapts and seals the outlet from the sump/pump to the drain hose or disposer
- Helps maintain proper discharge flow during the drain cycle
- Common symptoms include water under the unit and standing water left in the tub
What's included: 1 drain adapter assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker and shut off water; bail out any standing water
- Access the drain outlet and place a towel or pan to catch residual water
- Move the hose clamp, remove the old adapter, and seat the new adapter squarely
- Reattach the hose, secure the clamp, and run a brief test cycle to check for leaks

Fine particle residue left on otherwise clean dishes Aean P. • Berkeley , CA • July 09, 2025
Our dishes were getting mostly clean but we started finding really fine food particles inside cups/bowls (especially our tall travel mugs). Very long story short, the rubber flapper valve in the adapter assembly had warped and was no longer closing, so dirty water was remaining in the tub during the rinse cycle. I may just buy an extra since it will probably fail again in a few years and I'll need to replace it again.
