My son and I took the back panel off the dryer and found that the dryer was full of lint. It was very dirty and probably explains why the dryer had no been working as well. We cleaned the dryer out, took off the old air duct assembly and replaced it with the new one. We also replaced the old dryer hose while we had it pulled out. There's a metal piece that the lint filter pushes down into that got bent a bit I guess and ended up skewering the lint filter. I got it loose but couldn't get the metal piece to stay where it was supposed to be to operate without catching the lint filter. I think it's there to prevent things like socks from hitting the blower wheel. When the new part came in I had to take the front cover off the blower wheel.
