Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP99002363
This float controls your dishwasher's water level. As the tub fills, it rises to signal the float switch to shut off incoming water, helping prevent overfilling and leaks.
- Lifts with the water to actuate the float switch and stop filling
- Helps protect against overfilling and door leaks
- Replace if the float is cracked, deformed, waterlogged, or sticks in its well
- Symptoms can include: won't fill or stops filling early; overfilling or leaks at the door
Includes: 1 float Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Remove the lower rack and locate the float in the tub floor
- Lift the old float straight up; clear any debris; seat the new float and free up-and-down movement
- Restore power and run a fill test to proper operation and check for leaks
Troubleshooting tip: If water enters the tub even with power off, the inlet valve is likely stuck open rather than a float issue.

Runs but will not fill with water Michael K. • Las Vegas , NV • January 25, 2020
I first installed the inlet pump with no results. I then ordered a Control Switch and Float and Nut. This fixed the problem. Everything comes out so clean. I also replaced the filter which allowed me to clean debris around old filter. It is also easier to replace all these parts with the dishwasher pulled out and tilted on its side. I had to pull mine out to unplug power to the dishwasher.

Soap tray on dishwasher did not open during the wash cycle Michael H. • Marietta , GA • February 15, 2015
I found the videos on dishwasher repair that AppliancePartsPros offers and determined the likely cause of the problem. I removed the door cover and found soap caked on the back. I cleaned the cover and switched the wax motors to see if the clean rinse motor was good and ran a tested cycle. No improvement. I ordered two new wax motors for the Maytag dishwasher and those arrived in a few days from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced the old motors and ran a test cycle. The soap tray opened correctly....

This float palnut is a push-on retainer that secures the dishwasher's water-level float to its stem. Keeping the float anchored helps the overfill protection work properly, supporting correct fill levels and helping prevent leaks from overfilling. What it does:

- Helps the float reliably actuate the overfill/float switch
- Replace if cracked, loose, or missing
- Typical symptoms include a loose or wobbly float, the float popping off, erratic filling, overfilling, or leaks near the float area
What's included:

Hose connection finally went bad at faucet Mike H. • Bellefontaine , OH • August 22, 2016
I got the new hose with connection at faucet in only 2 days after ordering. After taking the top and sides off if the dishwasher it only took 10 minutes to replace the hose. It actually took longer to disassemble and reassemble the top and sides but even that was easy. 45 minutes total. Just use your cell phone to take a picture of how the old hose is routed before installing the new one and have 2 small zip ties to keep loose wires away from hose.

Problem with detergent cup lid. John M. • Craig , CO • November 27, 2017
The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent.
Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now.

This power cord strain relief secures the cord where it passes through the appliance cabinet, protecting the jacket and preventing pull on internal connections. Replacing a cracked or missing connector restores a safe, stable cord entry. What it does:
- Secures the power cord at the cabinet entry to relieve strain on internal terminals or junction connections
- Provides a protective bushing to reduce abrasion of the cord jacket against cabinet edges
- Helps maintain proper routing and support for the incoming power cord
- Typical signs it's needed: loose or wobbly cord at entry, broken/missing connector, or visible chafing on the cord jacket
What's included:
- 1 strain relief connector
Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before servicing
- Remove the access cover, release and remove the old strain relief, and route the cord through the new connector
- Seat the connector fully so it captures the cord's outer jacket—not the individual conductors
- After reassembly, verify the cord is secure and does not move at the entry point

This impeller assembly replaces a worn or damaged wash-pump impeller to help restore water circulation and spray pressure for better cleaning. Commonly used in compatible Whirlpool wash pumps to address weak wash performance. What it does:
- Spins inside the wash pump to move water through spray arms; damaged fins reduce spray force and cleaning.
- Restores proper flow during wash cycles — symptoms of failure include weak or uneven cleaning.
- Reduces abnormal pump noise and motor strain when the impeller is intact; cracked or missing fins can cause humming or grinding.
- Works with the pump housing and seals to route water; a failed impeller can allow internal leakage or cavitation.
What's included: One impeller assembly. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power (and water, if applicable) before servicing the appliance.
- Inspect pump seals, gaskets, and surrounding components; replace any damaged parts to prevent leaks.

Broken "impeller assembly" Michael P. • Carriere , MS • September 26, 2016
The initial problem was just a simple blockage on the filter screen...until I dropped a screw. So, I had to take the rest of the insides apart to retrieve it. The original impeller would not come off easily, so I tried to pry it off. Naturally, that caused the threaded portion to break.
The new impeller went on much more easily than the old one came off, and the dishwasher is back in action. Simple repair; there's really not much to the inside of this thing.

There were two problems one of the spring links on the door broke which meant the door would free fall when opened unless you held on to it also the lower bearing on the motor virtually seized up Randall B. • Moab , UT • January 14, 2017
I first wanted to get the dishwasher running, before ordering the spring links. So I disassembled the pump / motor assembly to determine the reason the motor would not start. My wife cleaned all of the parts in the pump assembly. I took the motor apart and discovered that the lower bearing ( a sleeve type bearing) was dry and dirty, and was the culprit for the motor seizing. I cleaned up the bearing and lubricated it with SAE 20W. I also packed felt inside the cavity adjacent to the bearing....
