Dryer making loud noise or won't dry? A cracked or loose blower wheel often causes poor airflow. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with basic tools.
I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly.
