Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. 1) disconnected motor from electrical supply. 2) undid housing brackets with a socket wrench. 3) undid two screws to remove motor and fan from housing. 4) pried fan off motor. 5) placed fan onto new motor. 6) put fan and motor back into housing. 6) put housing back with two screws from step two. 7) reconnected electrical supply from step one.
