Refrigerator not cooling or freezer making loud noise? A failed evaporator fan motor stops cold air circulation. This DIY repair takes about 30 minutes.
Removed back panel in freezer compartment. Held on by four hex head screws. Disconnected wire assembly from panel and then replaced evaporator fan motor on kitchen table. Evaporator fan motor is attached to back side of freezer panel by four hex head screws. Easy repair to do.It took me about 30 minutes to do the repair. Read more

Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Fix freezer icing and warm fridge temps by replacing a faulty defrost timer. Typical DIY repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools and a multimeter.
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. Speed clip slides over panel edges to create captive threads for mounting screws. Replace worn, missing, or broken clips to restore secure attachment.
Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems. Read more

Every once in a while we'd get a small leak just under the left side (freezer door). I moved the fridge out and saw the water stain towards the front of the unit.
