Microwave stops heating or shuts down randomly? The management assembly controls key functions. Requires careful handling of high-voltage components.
I did my research and based on what I discovered via chat rooms, etc... I was pretty sure the problem was the Magnetron. Of course Samsung wouldn't stand behind it! The part was under a 10 year warranty but I had to pay their technician to come and diagnose then come back to repair. So I chatted with a rep from Appliance Pros and she confirmed that the symptoms sounded like I needed to replace the Magnetron. I ordered it, It arrived two days earlier than the estimated delivery date! It took me... Read more

Microwave has no power or won't start? A faulty cavity thermostat often causes complete shutdowns. This part restores temperature control in 5-10 minutes.
I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. I then noticed a burn mark on the plastic connector sleeve for the one above the magnetron. I took a scrap piece of 14 gage copper wire and beat the ends flat with a... Read more

Connects the turntable motor to the glass tray in your microwave. Replace if cracked, broken, or stripped teeth prevent the tray from rotating smoothly.
Opened up hinged bottom of microwave and saw that the old motor had come loose from its secure position. I decided to replace the old motor with the new one and secured it into place, which was very simple--just a matter of unplugging the old motor's connection; plugging in the new one; securing the motor in place with one screw; closing up the hinged bottom; putting in the new coupler; and checking to see if it works. It did! Read more

Replace cracked or broken microwave cooktop light glass lens. Restores clear illumination over your stovetop. Confirm fit with your model number.
It was easy to fix, take out screw and the piece is on a hinge. The glass lens was easy to take out and insert the new one. The good news is that Appliance Parts Pros again came through for me. They had this little obscure part. Even though it was on manufacture back-order they kept me informed and delivered the goods. Read more
Securely holds the microwave lamp for reliable interior illumination. Replace if socket is damaged, corroded, or bulbs burn out frequently. Confirm fit.
Our microwave is mounted over the range, and has dual lights underneath that light up the range. A while back in trying to replace burned out bulbs, one of the bulbs broke and in trying to remove the rest of the bulb from the socket, I accidentally destroyed the socket. We worked fine with the remaining bulb for a year or so, but it finally burned out. Unfortunately all of the replacement bulbs would only last 1-2 days before burning out again in the one socket. When I'd originally destroyed... Read more
Replacement cooking tray for over-the-range microwaves. Replaces cracked, warped, or missing trays. Installs inside cavity to support food during cooking.
Microwave not heating food? A faulty high voltage capacitor often causes no heat issues. This repair requires electrical safety knowledge and care.
Did a little research prior to opening the microwave up. Microwave has to be taken down for repair and then hung back on the wall after repair. Would recommend using 2 people for this job. Checked the 3 thermocouples, one at the top (normally closed) and two at the bottom (one is normally closed and one normally opened). All three checked good. Checked both fuses, found the fuse marked Main Fuse to be blown. Fuses blow because of a problem, did some digging. Prior to the microwave going out... Read more

Microwave stopped heating or makes humming noise before shutting off? The high voltage capacitor often fails first. DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
Main Fuse did not open, only fuse for high voltage section was opened. Prior to the fuse blowing a louder than normal hum was heard from microwave for 1-2 seconds prior. Easy fix is the high voltage capacitor, so first checked the voltage across the capacitor terminals to ensure capacitor was discharged. Typically should be reasonably discharged within 30sec-1min assuming drain resistor is still in place. Removed the high voltage cap, and checked the capacitance and did not get a reading.... Read more
