I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better. I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. Refrigerator not cooling or clicking but not starting? This compressor start relay and overload kit fixes failed starting systems. DIY repair in 30 minutes.
Took the screws off the back plate at the bottom and watched the YouTube video on how to remove the cover plate for the starter and overload on the back of the compressor. Ended up snapping the old cover plate (brittle plastic) so I was glad the "kit" came with a new one. Holds the ice dispenser chute door closed on your refrigerator. Replace if spring is broken, missing, or worn and the flapper won't seal properly.
The ice dispenser chute door had not been sealing for years. The ice cubes on the lower portion of the ice bin would melt enough eventually to then freeze up into a big, amalgamated blob of ice due to ambient air coming up the chute. 8-18 x 1/2 inch mounting screw for securing drawer glides, brackets, and oven door components. Replace missing, stripped, or damaged screws during repairs.
Whenever the drawer was opened, it would fall of the guide rails. This lead to the drawer being crooked several times. I took the drawer out and noticed one of the glides was missing. Ordered a new pair, popped it on and now the drawer slides properly. Read more
