A repair man said a bearing was out and estimated repairs at $600+, or just replace unit. I researched parts and video online and decided to tackle repair myself. Appliance parts was very helpful in finding parts, ordering, and shipping. Online help is the only area that needs improvement as I was seeking help in identifying other parts that might need replacement since machine was torn down this far. Replace the ball sensor. Also known as the out of balance sensor . Another confirmatory clue was when I ran the QC diagnostics . The moment I ran the first diagnostic test, the spin test, I got a bE (ball sensor) error code in the display and the drum would rotate slowly. When I replaced the sensor the drum ran at very hig speed the moment I entered the diagnostic. Stepwise disassembly, taking photos along the way. 7-8 screws to remove old top. Had to uplug all motherboard plugs to get wire harness through the top peice. Took care to number the 10 wire harness plugs in the motherboard to aid in replacement Part was OEM. Fit perfectly. Probably saved $200. Read more
