Refrigerator not cooling or making noise? This condenser fan motor kit fixes cooling issues and noisy operation. DIY-friendly with video guide.
Unplugged refrigerator and removed access panel from back of fridge. Have had this panel off many times for dust removal. Panel is a cheap piece of glorified cardboard on this Whirlpool model, which is a shame given that it was a $1000 refrigerator. Fan motor is mounted on stamped sheet metal bracket which I removed from cabinet with old fan attached to it. Metal bracket held in place by 4 1/4 inch hex head sheet metal screws. Two outermost screws can be removed with nut driver but access to... Read more
Refrigerator light won't turn on or stays on constantly? A faulty light switch is likely the cause. This 15-minute DIY repair restores proper operation.
We had delayed repairing the problem because we received a price of more than $ 100 from a local appliance repairman. However, after viewing the view on the ApplianceParts Pro website, I saw what an easy repair it would be. After receiving the part from you, I had my son do the repair because I felt it would a good father - son bonding time. It was so easy and he was proud of his ability. Thanks for your excellent repair video and the excellent price. It costs less than $ 22 instead of more... Read more
Ice maker won't stop making ice or overflows? The bin thermistor monitors temperature to control ice production. Easy 15-minute DIY repair fix.
Order a new bin thermostat and replaced the old one and it seems to be working fine. Thanks Read more
Ice maker not producing ice or making squealing noise? The recirculating pump circulates water over the evaporator plate to form ice. Moderate DIY repair.
My husband (TACLB12654C) took the machine apart and found the recirculating pump would not run. The electrical receptacles inside the machine had corroded to the point that it took two days soaking in vinegar water to loosen them. He gave the entire machine a good cleaning, reassembled it, installed the new pump, and turned the little ice making machine into an operational device. Since this belonged to one of our best friends, our friend is now a happy camper. Read more

Water leaking from bottom of ice maker reservoir? This drain pump removes water during the flush cycle. Moderate DIY repair with tight wire connections.
This tube is very difficult to work with due to its location behind the cold plate. I loosened the two screws on the left, but there's no way to get the screws on the left loose. I cut the hose off of the pipe at the top of the cold plate and slowly worked it out. The new tube comes folded in half, putting a bad crimp in the middle. The easiest way to get rid of the crimp is to pour boiling hot water onto the crimped area and then open up the tube. I didn't do it, but you might want to... Read more
Replacement cutting grid wire kit for ice makers. Includes 10 feet of wire and screws to restring your grid frame when wire breaks, pits, or wears out.
This was a fairly easy process. 1) Tighten one of the wire ends to a screw and keep the wire as taut as possible while wrapping it through the grid. Brace the grid against a corner wall, or held within a vice (don't over tighten in this instance). 2) Be sure to have the second screw ready to tighten, and again, keep the wire taut as you wrap it around this screw. It may take some re-wrapping to eliminate slack. 3) After the lower wrapped section is complete, repeat for the upper wire... Read more
Ice maker not cutting cubes or ice sitting on cutter melting? Replace the cutter grid assembly. Easy 5-10 minute DIY repair—just two screws and two wires.
There are plenty of DIY youtube videos to show you how to replace the parts. I went ahead and replaced more than just the broken parts. I figured if I had the machine opened up, I might as well replace parts that could go out in the future. I might have gone a bit too far with all the other parts. The only part that was really broken was the wiring harness. Two of the wires had corroded from the sockets and there was no other way than to replace the entire harness. Its a bit tricky to feed... Machine shutting off every few days? Cracked water reservoir causes leaks and safety shutoffs. Moderate DIY—swap pan, pump o-ring, reconnect hoses.
I believe the drain pump is designed to shut the machine off, if it senses a problem. I believe the problem was too much water going down the drain, more than the pump could handle perhaps. During operation there was more water dripping than seemed normal, though not a gush, just slow drips. Using a mirror I detected pretty large cracks in the bottom of the water pan. I ordered and replaced the water pan. In order to replace the water pan, the water pan pump must be removed from the bottom of... Read more
Cleaning solution for ice machines to remove scale and mineral buildup. Maintains performance and ice quality. Replace when cleaner supply runs out.
Noticed that some terminals on the wiring harness were corroded and that no water was being pumped over the ice grid. Ice machine did get cold inside the compartment so it was not apparent that the compressor was bad. Ordered a Water Pump (from bin to ice grid) and a new wiring harness. Recirculating pump appeared to be okay. As I am not an experienced service tech (actually a Chemist) logic told me that my chances of success were high (not guaranteed though).. After replacing the parts... Read more
Plastic tubing that routes water through your refrigerator's system. Replace if cracked, brittle, kinked, or leaking to restore proper flow and prevent damage.
I replace the water inlet valve in my refrigerator about 8 months ago. About a week ago, the old plastic water line broke. I forgot how the water line connector worked and broke the valve trying to pull it out. I got a new valve and replacement water line, and it went in easily, just like the video said. Morals of the story: 1. Know how to remove the old plastic water line. I could have saved myself the price of a new valve if I'd remembered how the connector worked. Unless you have a really...
