This 240V heater assembly replaces the electric heating element module in your dryer, restoring proper heat to the airflow. Replacing a failed element helps address no-heat complaints and improves overall drying performance. What it does:
- Generates heat by energizing the element at 240 volts to warm air moving through the drum
- Restores heat when the original element is open or shorted to the housing
- Helps with: drum runs but no heat, long dry times, cool exhaust air
- Element should show continuity across its terminals and no continuity to chassis when tested
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; allow the unit to cool
- Access the heater housing from the rear or front, depending on model; photograph wiring for reference
- Move wires one at a time; reuse mounting screws; transfer any thermostats mounted on the old housing if present
- After reassembly, ensure the exhaust vent is clear to prevent overheating and repeat failures
