Finite Switch Parts

I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). My husband and myself didn't agree on which part was the exact problem. He felt it was the valve. I felt it was the ignitor/ orifice. And we both agreed the Harness-Ignitor needed to be replaced. I was able to clean the Oven Temp Sensor with 99% alcohol. Then replaced All switches (after breaker was isolated). Put it all back the way I found it. Turned on breaker. Tested all functions and had no reports of Fan Code re-appearing since. Read more

Googled the issue and was told to replace the motor relay. I ordered new relay form App. Parts Pros and it arrived in less than 2 days. After some relatively simple dis assembly of the dryer I replaced the relay. Dryer works fine now. Read more

• Element will not heat

This cooktop has a dual element with an inner burner surrounded by an outer burner. The switch controls either the inner burner alone or both. Was set to pull the trigger on a new washer since this one was 10+ years old. Broke a $25 lid switch fumbling to get the washer open before I found the appliancepros video library. Once I got things apart the right way I was able to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes. Identified the $10 part needed. Got the $10 coupling and the $25 switch and had the washer working like new in 20 minutes. I'm pretty proud of myself.. not going to tell anyone about the $25 switch. Read more

I replaced both the large single element and the large dual element control switches. It appears the resistors were burning out. Problem seems to be fixed. Will know later when I do some simmering. Read more
