Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access. I pulled the unit away from the wall and noticed black dust on the floor. Unplugged the unit, turned off the water. Removed back panel (about 10 screws with Torx heads) and noticed the belt was off, the drive pulley was loose and wobbling on the shaft, black dust all over the inside. Belt was worn along one side. The instructions that came with the parts did not match the project I was doing, so those were not helpful. I looked up videos on YouTube and those all made it look way easier than it actually was. From what I could tell at that point, I wouldn't need to dismantle anything. I would simply be able to remove the gasket and put the new one in its place. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully.
