This temperature sensor monitors internal refrigerator temperatures and relays them to the control, helping the unit maintain consistent cooling. Replacing a failed sensor restores accurate temperature regulation and more reliable operation. What it does:
I've cleaned the drain tube numerous times. Always freezes and plugs. Added a defrost tab down into drain tube, missing from factory. This time defrost heater bad. Replaced heater, bi-metal switch and temp sensor. Great service and next day receipt of parts. Thanks ! Read more

When I looked on the Appliance Parts Pro website it said the usual fix for a refrig that is not cooling is to replace the defrost thermostat in the freezer. I didn't see how that would keep the refrig from cooling but I figured I would try it. Got the part yesterday ( two days shipping which was great!). I took the panel off the back of the freezer and the coils were all covered in solid ice! it took me an hour with a heat gun to melt the ice. I changed the defrost thermostat and now the... Read more
This icing kit is a factory update designed to reduce frost build-up in the ice/dispenser area. It improves sealing and insulation to help keep the ice path clear and restore reliable dispensing performance.
Firstly, the Ice Door had a kink in the edge, which caused it to stay open and create lots of frost on the coils. $5.00 part, highly recommend it. (By the way, the new door was little too big and it too stay propped open and left a gap so I had to trim the top edge of the rubber with scissors to get it to fully close.) Secondly, there are two heaters for the defrost cycle, one that goes around the coils and another attached to a collector pan beneath the coils. When the cycle hits, those... Read more
The defrost heater warms the evaporator during automatic defrost cycles to remove frost and ice, restoring airflow and cooling. Replacing a failed heater helps prevent frost buildup and maintain more consistent temperatures throughout the refrigerator.
I used my experience with appliances to help me replace these parts. I also used the available AppliancePartsPros.com videos that were supplied by your email with my order. The videos are very helpful. Read more

After reading stories on this website I decided the problem was probably the control board. I ordered the sensors also just in case. The display has been dim for awhile so I got that also. I replaced the board and the display in less than an hour. It is working perfectly now so I never installed the sensors. I believe the board was ruined by a recent power outage. The power flickered several times before it went out, I don't think the board could handle the fluctuations. This will be my go to... Read more
This defrost thermostat is a clip-on, bi-metal safety control for the freezer evaporator. Replacing a failed thermostat restores proper automatic defrost, helping prevent heavy frost buildup and temperature swings in the fresh food section.
I bought a thermostat and defrost timer. Read more
The defrost heater melts frost off the evaporator coil during the automatic defrost cycle so cold air can circulate freely. Replacing a failed heater helps clear recurring ice buildup and restores stable refrigerator and freezer temperatures.

This defrost heater warms the evaporator coil during the automatic defrost cycle to melt frost and ice, restoring airflow and consistent temperatures. Replace a failed heater to stop recurring frost buildup and uneven cooling. What it does:
First replaced defrost timer which tested OK - but reasonable price and easy to replace. When that did not fix the problem replaced the defrost thermostat and defrost heater. That fixed the problem. However all three parts tested OK ?? May have been a loose connection or intermittent problem with one of the parts. Final cost for all three parts was much cheaper than a service call!! Read more
This is the round bimetal defrost thermostat used in many refrigerators. It protects the evaporator from icing by opening and closing based on coil temperature, helping ensure consistent defrost cycles and reliable cooling performance.
THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY,PTC
For an emergency fix I installed a 3 in1 kit disabling the original start cap and wiring in the original run cap to the run winding. Ordered the proper PTC and overload from Appliance Parts Pros and installed them 2 weeks later. The original start and run capacitor were good, rewired back to design specs. The original PTC had pins 1,2 and 3, the replacement had 2,3 and 4. Only wiring change was to install the red wire from pin 1 on the original PTC to pin 4 on the new PTC. Read more
This defrost timer cam replaces the plastic cam on a mechanical defrost timer. It restores the timer's changeover between cooling and defrost, helping prevent frost buildup on the evaporator and temperature swings inside the refrigerator.
I replaced the Thermostat and Defrost Timer. It was a fairly easy repair other than removing the old Defrost Timer. The way the manufacturer, in this case, Amana, mounts that unit with "clips" is just poor design and engineering. It is virtually impossible to get the timer out without damaging the mounts. I had to do some creative rework to mount the new timer. After 2 days, the fridge appears to be working properly with these new parts. The new parts were shipped Very Fast...APP is... Read more
This mechanical defrost timer controls the refrigerator's automatic defrost cycle, clearing frost from the evaporator and helping maintain stable temperatures. Replacing a faulty timer restores regular defrost intervals to prevent frost buildup and inconsistent cooling.
This unit has a recurring problem with the defrost timer. after the first 10 years the original part gave up. we had it replaced and (as normal for me i watched very closely) . after 2 years the same trouble started again. the defrost cycle would run to long. so i replaced the same part and solved the trouble again. so now about every 2 years this part wears out again and i order it and replace it. this has gone on for 20 years now and this unit is still going strong after serving us for 29... This is a refrigerator control board that can be used to replace a damaged or faulty board in select refrigerators. The control board is used to manage various functions that occur in the refrigerator, including cooling and defrosting. If there is a problem with the board, the refrigerator might not be able to defrost correctly, or it might not stay cool. The control board for the refrigerator tends to last a long time. However, it could eventually wear out and stop working. It could be damaged due to a voltage surge, or it might be a faulty board. Remove and store all food in the refrigerator and unplug it before beginning repairs. This refrigerator control board works with certain models from Kenmore, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, Inglis, Crosley, Gladiator, Kirkland, and Maytag. It's sold individually and is a genuine OEM replacement.
