Christopher P Los Angeles , CA October 04, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Stacked Laundry- Gas LSG7806AAE Maytag gas dryer was not heating Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I prefer not to experience the hassle of replacing failing parts every year so I purchased the new igniter and several additional parts (and the parts are inexpensive). Installed all of the new parts as shown on the repair videos on AppliancePartsPros.com and the dryer is now heating up as designed. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com. Gary S Burke , VA August 31, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer LDE612 No heat from the dryer. My first thought was the heater coil. Since Appliance Parts Pros is my go-to for parts I ordered a heating coil, a high temp thermostat, and a fuse with examining first. When I opened it up I found one lead to the coil was burnt off and the other showed sign of heat at the terminal. I theorize that over the 35 years of use corrosion occurred at the crimp-on terminals going to the heating coil. As the corrosion increased the resistance at the terminals increased until it melted off one terminal and the other show sign of excessive heat. I replaced both terminal connectors with new well-crimped connectors and silver soldered for extra assurance. Should last another 35 years.
