Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Constant beeping no heat   Amy N. • Pike Road , AL • March 27, 2018

My 12 year old Frigidaire stack on top dryer had been beeping distress messages in some unintelligible code for about a year when it completely stopped producing heat. It also had a long standing issue with delicate fabrics and thin straps or drawstrings getting caught in the drum. After using this site to troubleshoot and viewing the useful how-to videos, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermal limiter, and felt seals. Based on others' stories, I decided to also replace the rear... Read more

Gibson Heating Element
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 318255006

The Heating Element is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens and ranges. It is responsible for providing the heat necessary for baking or broiling. The element converts electrical energy into heat through resistance; this heat is then distributed throughout the oven cavity to cook or bake food evenly.

Common causes of a bad Heating Element can include visible signs of damage like blistering, bulging, or breakage. A burnout may occur when the element overheats and fails, leading to no heat production. Additionally, electrical issues like a blown fuse or faulty wiring can prevent the element from receiving power.

Symptoms of a bad Heating Element include:

  • The oven does not heat up
  • Uneven cooking or baking
  • Longer cooking times than usual
  • The element not glowing when the oven is turned on

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Little to no heat when baking
  • Oven not heating evenly
  • Won't start

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My oven stopped working properly on convection roast setting was was only heating up to about 200 degrees   Mark R. • Eastham , MA • May 15, 2015

One day, while trying to roast chicken on the convection roast setting, my Electrolux oven stopped heating properly. I tried the broil setting and the top electric heating element worked fine. I then tried the bake setting and found that the bottom element wasn't working at all. I Googled the problem. The info I found said that the issue was probably that the bake element needed to be replaced. It said to look for a break or burned through spot on the element. If it appeared OK, remove it... The dryer is a Kenmore Laundry Center, model 417-99570150. Bought in 1998, so it is an older model. Not wanting to buy the newer ones that are out now. We opted to fix the Kenmore. Just believe the older models are worth fixing, if at all possible. Frist we had to figure out what parts we would need and if the cost would be worth our time. • Heats the evaporator to clear frost/ice so air can circulate
  • Helps maintain stable refrigerator and freezer temperatures
  • Symptoms include heavy frost on the back freezer panel or coils, poor cooling, evaporator fan noise from ice contact, or frost returning soon after a manual defrost

  • 1 defrost heater
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Remove freezer shelves and the rear interior panel to access the evaporator area
