Microwave runs with door open or won't start? This door interlock switch fixes unsafe operation. Most DIYers replace all 3 switches in 30 minutes.
Removed and replaced 3 door switches and mounting bar that holds switches plastic gets brittle with age and each switch comes out slightly different from each other, the chances of breaking a mounting pin is very easy. care should be taken when snapping mounting bar back into place to insure top latch and bottom latch locate properly insure bar is proper aligned when tightening screws their is free play in mounting bracket that could affect door properly engaging switches. The light inside the microwave oven was out. I could not see where it was and how to get at it because the inside is a continuous box. Went online to youtube for my oven model and sure enough a very well made demonstration of how to replace the light bulb was there. After reading other folk's comments on making this repair, I got a good general idea of how to do this repair. Just go slow, take your time. Tried to turn the microwave on, checked the outlet for power, check the breaker to see if it was tripped, all was in order. Removed the over the range microwave and pull the covers, Tested continuity with a multimeter for each of the 4 normally closed thermostats, found 2 bad (open). The upper 110 and the lower right 70. Replaces a cracked, melted, or burned microwave stirrer fan cover. Installs on top of the cavity to protect the stirrer mechanism from damage.
Used a flat head screwdriver to pop off old cover. Put new one back on. Keep the little plastic screw as the new cover does not come with one. Read more

Microwave completely dead or showing F1 error code? This oven cavity thermal cutoff sensor prevents overheating. Moderate DIY repair, test with multimeter.
GE Microwave/Convection Oven. Removed case (carefully). Tested in-line power cord fuse with multi-meter. Fuse was good. Noticed a scorch mark on a wire connected to the oven cavity thermal fuse. The fuse appeared to have been overheated from too much movement in it's mount. Removed part from unit and used number on the part to order a new one.
