Anthony C Barnegat , NJ March 17, 2015 Appliance: LG Dryer DLG5988W No heat in my lg dlg5988w dryer I first ordered a thermostat and ignitor and replaced and that did not work. I asked Appliance Parts Pros their opinion in the chat and they said it was the coils in the gas valve but you had to replace the entire valve as the coils are not sold individually. So i ordered the part and also replaced the thermistor and drum belt while i had the dryer apart anyway! And this fixed the problem! These guys are the absolute best and most helpful i have ever dealt with. This is the second time i used them as my washer broke six months ago! The self help videos with matt are worth their weight in GOLD!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Robert R Houston , TX May 04, 2015 Appliance: Model LG DLG5966G Dryer was setup for propane very dangerous when connected to natural gas dryer was exhibiting low to no heat with a very pronounced presence of a strong raw gas smell I ordered the natural gas conversion orifice with 2 day shipping, I also ordered for only maintenance reasons a new ignitor, as they are very common wear and tear item (like a spark plug on a gas engine or a glow plug on a diesel engine ). Both items came promptly and well protected . Easy install, only needed a Phillips screwdriver for entire repair. R&R top first, r&r front display panel,r&r door,r&r front panel,r&r drum (very easy), replaced ignitor and orifice. Total job took 30 min. I only wished that I would have remembered to order a new belt, just for maintenance purposes, the original still looked good a felt strong, no cracks present but this is a good time to replace. Dan H Matthews , NC December 02, 2017 Appliance: Model DLG0452W (ABWEEUS) No heat. Dryer would not heat, and when operated there would be a slight odor of natural gas. Being that this was my first rodeo, I was sure the problem was the ignitor. I went ahead and ordered the ignitor. While waiting on the ignitor to arrive, I took the dryer apart to access the ignitor. The ignitor tested ok, as well as the flame sensor and high limit switches, The high limit switch at the dryer vent exhaust was cracked. This is the one with the reset button. I replaced it with one purchased at a local parts store. After putting everything back together, the dryer worked. Everything back to normal. Actually, I still am not sure what fixed the dryer, but it works! YMMV. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Screwdrivers
